Gibson Furnace will blow cold air sometimes instead of warm air. I believe it to be a problem with a wire because we had it worked on before. There are also two lights - one stays on continuously and the other one will blink. Is this something I can repair myself? If so, how? The furnace is only a couple of years old.

What type of fuel is it? I'm thinking something along the lines of a bad gas valve, if it is gas, or a bad ignitor.

Glad to have you here on this sight, trying to help, but please don't just say that it may be a bad gas vavle or igniter without knowing a little more about the problem they are having. Any one of us could give a hundred different possible problems, but this will only confuse the poster. Lets take it from the top and I hope you can give this person some help. The furnace is gas with an electronic ignition wire - doesn't have a pilot light. They worked on it before and I believe the guy said it was the ignitor or ignition switch wire.

I really need to know about the blinking light. This is the first step to solving your problem. I could guess and guess, but I would rather have some facts to work with. I really want to help, but I need you to help me help you,, wow that's a lot of helps.lol

Does a glow plug sound familiar? That is probably what they replaced last time,, most likely not the problem this time.

There are two lights. When the furnace is not running there is a red light that blinks. It will blink 4 times and then pause and blink 4 times and pause. When the furnace is running, there is a yellow light (above the red light) that blinks sporadically and the red light then stays on constantly. Hope this helps you and I thank you for trying to help me.

Orange light makes me think flame senser. But I could be wrong, let me do a little research and see what I can find.

Have you looked closely for the diagnostic codes located inside doors of furnace. This would also help immensley. It will tell you what the four blinks mean. One step at a time and we will get this solved. If you have the owners manual for furnace, it may also tell you what the flashing light means.

I ran into a Gibson a few weeks ago with a host of issues. The vent terminations were, well, creative, but not even close to correct. Moisture had flooded the intake and made its way to the pressure switch, causing internal oxidation and rendering it useless. If I'm not mistaken, the circuit board was displaying code 4... hope this may be of some help.

I have the same furnace. Your answer helped me to figure out that, since the red light is blinking once, I need to call a tech. It also helped me know that there is an explanatory label INSIDE the door I removed. Would've been nice of Gibson/Nordyne to put it on the OUTSIDE where one could see it.
