What do I do when the fan on my furnace does not shut off. I just had the burners replaced and when I called the Htg & A/C company they said they would charge me to come back out and look at the fan issue. My preference is to do it myself if it is not difficult. I am an amateur DIY.

Thanks. DK

What are your thermostat settings?

Is it running now?

What kind of furnace is it? Brand? Fuel type?

I have a gas powered York. (about 10 years old) The thermostat works fine. Burners kick on when I increase the temp but the fan continues to run. I keep unplugging the furnace to save on electricity then when I need the heat I plug it back in.

Does that answer your questions? Thanks for your help.

Sounds like a stuck fan relay to me. They're not hard to replace, though I'm sure there are other possibilities.

Do you have a setting on the thermostat that says on/auto? It should be set to auto. Also, what type of high limit do you have. If you could take a pic of the inside of your furnace, we should be able to help you locate the limit and test it.

That would be great. I will take one tomorrow. I hope I take a picture of the right thing.
Thanks.

The more pics the better.
