There is no way to reset your router? NeedKarma is right, if you don't have the key or the network setup disk you were instructed to create at the time the network security was setup, you need to reset the router. Most modern routers (Belkin, CISCO/LinkSys, etc) have a blue or black reset button on the back and will return the router to factory default. This will allow you to re-create your security.

Why can't you reset. If there is no resetbutton, you just unplug the power for a minute or so.

If he forgot Key, but knows router password, couldn't he look there?
Good job solving your problem.

Good job solving your problem. The router password will get him to his configuration page but the WAP key password may display as all dots or asterisks.
