I have a six month old Morkie. We live in a cold climate and have struggled with potty training this winter. We have followed the directions of taking him to the same spot, taking him out within a half hour of eating, and going out every hour and a half or so. He does well in his crate, but when out in the two designated rooms with us he has accidents. He is able to go 5-6 hours at night, and occasionally during the day if I'm out, in his crate without an accident. He will bark to go out if crated but not if out of the crate. Lately, he is having bowel movements inside but will urinate outside. He also is wanting to go out at night more frequently and only urinating or having a bowel movement each time. He is not wanting to do both at the same time. We feed him twice a day am and late afternoon. He is having 5-6 bowel movements a day. Any advice?

I have 2 dogs and also live in a cold climate. When they were young I also took them out frequently and they did well but had occasional accidents. Over time, they were trained after just a few months. It sounds like you are doing the right things to train your puppy. Just be patient and things will work out over time. Good luck.
