In backing out of my garage, I hit the doorway with my side view mirror

And it got pushed all the way forward :(

Thankfully it popped back into place, but now the electronic adjustment does not work for EITHER side mirror, and my "Door Ajar" light on the dash is stuck on.

Any ideas on what the issue might be?

Thanks :)

I could be wrong but I thought the door ajar light was tied into the latch itself on the newer Explorers & Mountaineers. It's possible the wiring somewhere got screwed up when the mirror got pushed around; did it take a pretty good hit?

The harness inside the mirror has gotten damaged.
Do you have either heated and/or auto-darkening mirrors?

The mirror controls and the feed for the door ajar circuit must share a common harness.

The mirror has a short pig-tail harness that has a connector inside, behind the door panel. Perhaps unplugging there could restore the other vehicle features.

Mirror has no heat or auto-darkening. I'm familiar with the harness as I replaced that mirror assembly a couple years ago...

I'll take it apart and do a close inspection of the wiring.

Thanks :)
