My system has a Heat Pump and Emergency heat back up. I want to replace the thermostat but need help, as I don't work on heat pumps very often. Ok, her is the color wires I have coming out of the wall and connected to my old thermostat.
Red wire connected to (R)
Green wire connected to (G)
Orange connected to (O)
White connected to (W2)
Yellow connected to (Y)
Black connected to (E)
This is how it is hooked up now and works fine. It is digital and the one I want to put in is also digital, non programmable.
Here is the new thermostat hook up posts
(W2)
(E)
(O/B)
(R)
(L)
(G)
(C)
(Y)
Can someone tell me how to properly wire this so it works. The old and new one both have batteries to install in them, can we wire to run on 24volt and have batteries as only back up too? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The old model is a LUXPRO, Model DM2110 Ver 1.5 or 210504D
The new one is a White-Rogers Economy 1F79-111 Prop Spec #70h0W
Thanks
I will be waiting for your answer

I appreciate the referance sheet you sent me, but it does not refer to the model of LUXPRO that I have. If anyone else knows the wiring hook up let me know A.S.A,P.
Thanks

L is probably an indicator. The state of O/B probably needs to be programmed (flips heat and cool).

(C), depending on the tstat may or may not be required.
(C) may be labeleed in the furnace. It may not. It can be found. Between (C) and (R) there will be 24 VAC all the time.

These are generic instructions without looking into the details.

On the LUXPRO stat that's up now there is no (C) post for a wire to go to! Only a (R) so what do you match the red up to to get the 24 volts? Also the (L) for indicator, what is that for? The Light on the unit? Can you look at the original post I put up and see if you can figuere the wiring out? Its hooked up now to the LUXPRO and works and I just want to install the other one and want to know how to wire it. Please help.
Thanks K.I.S.S.

Post the link to the manuals for the new and old stat.

All the wires add up except L and C.

L is a service light. What service. Who knows. Could be "air filter is dirty".

O/B is a programmable terminal. It's whether the reversing vale is normal or reverse acting.

(C) may be OPTIONAL if the stat is battery powered.
(C) can be found by looking at the furnace wiring if not labeled at the furnace.

We can deal with that when you/us understand where we are coming from.

See if L is connected at the furnace. See if there is a furnace function for L in the furnace manual.
