A company/school owes me money, how long do I have before I can no longer take them to small claims court to get my money from them? I am in Ontario, Canada? Under Limitation of Action Act, is it 2 years or 15 where it is a college/school?

I am not a lawyer, or particularly well versed in legal matters, except with my occupation under the Mental Health Act, BUT, I had to find out about the statute of limitations here in Ontario for a matter to do also with small claims, and statue of limitation.

I searched a long time, and finally called the Attorney General's Office who directed me to the information on the Government Web Site, and here it is.

You can also visit or call your local Small Claims Office where you are for clarification, and any other questions, as well as assistance with filing if you choose that route. I've filed over the years, three times, and they are very helpful.

In 2002 the Provincial Act was changed to remove the statute of limitations as applied to Student Loans/Debts. This means that regardless of how long ago your debt was incurred to the province, it is still active.

Am I misreading this? I thought he was owed money, and was going to sue them.
