I "probably" added too much oil to the 2 oil tubes on sears fifteen gas furnace.

The blower unit operates, but seems to have become louder with the last oiling.

Since the blower runs, what is the worst that can happen ? I can live with the noise ( which seems to be decreasing daily ) .

Thx

A little much oil will usually not harm the motor but it can make for a little mess in the blower area. Too much oil should not make the blower louder than it was before.
Now if you poured a quart of oil in the motor all bets are off. The worst that could happen is that you might have to replace the motor eventually but I doubt is the oil would be the cause since more than likely the motor is as old as the furnace and they do go bad after so many years of usage.

Maybe you inadvertently knocked some dirt off the blower wheel and now it is out-of-balance...

Hey KC13 Can you get out of your driveway? I hear Cincinnati got some more snow.

PSUJOE here: Thanks for the quick posts. Yes the furnace is old, so it may be age.

The blower has no rattle or shake... perhaps I can vacuum it since one post mentioned knocking dirt off the drum ?

Actually the best thing to do is wait till this cold weather is over and remove the entire blower assembly. Then you can take it all apart and really clean it well.

We got hit with another 9 inches of the real fluffy stuff but the main roads are OK. I am just to lazy to fix the snow blower I know exactly what is wrong with it. A pluged up main jet again. If it is not HVAC it takes forever for me to fix something.
