My wife has two 1099-G forms from receiving Unemployment from two states. Penn. And MD.

Question is taxes were taken out of both but we still owed Maryland $400. I did my taxes online and it asked which state we put in Maryland but the bulk of the unemployment came from PA. The tax withheld in PA was Federal only the Maryland one withheld Federal and State. Was this filled out right I wonder?

You should be paying taxes ONLY to the respective states that paid the unemployment, i.e. you pay Maryland on the Maryland unemployment compensation and Pennsylvania on the Pennsylvania unemployment compensation.

If you have doubts that you did it right, then you probably did not do it right and should professional tax help.

Pa does not tax UC benefits. MD does. So I paid Md taxes on all the UC was this right?

Probably not, but the amount of tax paid is probably so small that amending the return to correct it is not worth the effort.
