I have an 1833 and two 1901 silver dollars, tarnished but uncirculated, what are they worth?

Hi, lambjules!

Are there any other markings on these coins, such as single letters which would indicate where they were minted, please?

Flying Blue Eagle is and Expert on this site, who has the current documentation as to the possible monetary value of such collectibles. As such, I'm sure that he'll be along eventually to address your post and he'll need to know what the mint marks are.

Thanks!

LAMBjules -ON THE 1833 silver dollar you say you have -PLEASE_ take sanother good look at the date see note:: ( NOTE - FRom 1804 until 1834 there were no silver dollars struck, then in 1834 through 1835 they started minting silver dollars aghain, and they struck ones for the year 1804 to use in proof sets for collectorsREASON _ SUSPENSION OF SILVER COINAGE WAS LIFTED IN 18321,but was not until 1835 that steps were taken to resume coinage:: thern came the ( GOBRECHT DOLLARS ( 1836 to 1839):: NOW for the 1901 silver dollars- I CAN NOT give you the values for this coin, until I know about a mint mark, IF THERE IS ONE?? ;IF
YOU LOOK ON the reverse(BACK SIDE) AT THE BOTTOM BELOW THE WREATH I N CENTER BOTTOM YOU WILL FIND A MINT MARK IF IT HAS ONE :: IMPORTANT NOTE ( AUTHENTICATION IS RECOMMENDED< BECAUSE OF ALTERED MINT MARK<ALSO BE WARE OF (REMOVED MINT MARK) While studying the reverse side look very close to the eagles feathers, they were double die struck;; : I WILL ALSO NEED TO KNOW THIS::

Hi, F.B.E.

Since this thread went to two pages because of your post, I've inserted a quote in your post of what I asked to which your response is in reference, so that the thread will have a continuity and thus be understood the best.

I'll look forward to a response from you as to what I asked!
I did ask a question about a Peace Dollar that can be found via clicking on the following link, that apparently didn't catch your eye at the time

https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/collectibles/possible-monetary-value-1922-peace-silver-dollar-308692.html

I would also like to know the possible monetary value of it.
Thanks, and God's Love and Peace to you, Flying Blue Eagle!

P.S. I'm jealous of you with the temperatures that you're having! It's getting colder again up here!

CLOUGH- GOOD EVENING CRAIG< I think I hsave the answer to your last questions:: IN 1799 they had { 11-var.on the obverse and 17
var. on the reverse, for a total of 28 var.;; IN
1804 they minted [ QUARTER EAGLES) 1804 & 1805 {DISMES} { HALF DIMES} They used the ARC-PATTERN,{ STANDARD THROUGH 1807 on all denominations;; IN 1804 ,The mint closed down till the winter was over and the mesquitoes were killed out and the {YELLOW FEVER WAS CURED THEN THE MINT REOPPENED, and they still did not make any SILVER DOLLORS UN TILL 1835 and 1836 Which were all dated (1804) for proofs for collectors :: I finally found this tonight just before I come on line, There is a lot more on this subject in the book dateing from 1794 un till 1895
Have a good evening < GOD BLESS::F.B.E.

Hi, F.B.E.

So, are you saying, that in 1835 and 1836, they minted 1804 silver dollars?

Thanks!

Flying Blue Eagle

CLOUGH- Yes to your question, they did not start minting the silver DOLLARS ,until 1835 &
1836;Which in turn they were dated 1804 as proofs for certain VIP's;; ON correction in doing more studying of the history as, I said eariler . The mint closed down for (two) months every year ,due to the ( YELLOW FEVER ) ,but durning the rest of the year while open ,they minted the quarter eagles ,dismes,Half dimes ;; They hasd a lot of trouble minting the coins (due to the dies ,breaking ,cracking, ECT ECT, and even with a larger press they were not very lucky at being able to make the coins very good, tghat is why they had so many VAR'S.:: EVEN most of the dollars that were tried durrning the years from 1794 to 1803 ,were done so
The dates were changed to fit the year they wanted on them, some minted as late as 1858 and made as 1804 -1801-3;and some 1805's
AND THIS WAS DONE TO SATIFIY,COLLECTORS AND VIP'S; Well ,I will get back to you later,on more as I get the chanch to read this book;; Have a good evening and GOD BLESS::F.B.E.
