Hello, I am 23 years old and was just recently diagnosed with PCOS. :( I had a laproscopy done to check for endometriosis and they found 22 cyst on my ovaries. The doctor was able to remove them all. Thankfully I had no sign of endo. Being diagnosed with PCOS has been a real struggle for me. I have a beautiful daughter age 5, and my husband and I have been trying for the past 2 years for another. I was put on clomid for 4 months with no luck, and now the doctor has put me on birth controll so my body can relax and heal from having all those cyst. (not happy about it...but what can I do) anyhow He will be putting me back on clomid in 2 months to try again. My one concern is I do have a few symtoms of PCOS but not a lot.... I am NOT over weight at all.... I weigh 97 pounds and have for many years... mind you I am only 5 ft. lol... I also DO NOt have any extra hair anywhere.... I have gotten acne pretty bad within the last few months but other then that I feel fine. My main question is if theres anyone else out there who has PCOS and are not overweight and maybe have had this condition for some time now and never gained any extra weight while having it. I am freaking out that I am going to get heavy or get extra hair in the future? I know the doctor said there is different degrees to this condition and not everyone has the same symtoms. But it would be nice to know if there are people out there who have this and dont show some of the scary signs of it. I also do not have high blood pressure or high cholesterole? Well thank you very much for any new info... its very much appreciated :)

I have PCOS and am currently pregnant. I always thought I would have to try to get pregnant but actually it happened by total accident. I do carry a little extra weight and when I do it is on my tummy but I am not a large woman at all (Well I am at the moment but that's due to the baby). PCOS effects your hormones which can effect how your bady breaks down sugar in your body so it is easier to gain weight. Being over weight makes PCOS worse and therefore it becomes a vicious circle for some women. I took medication to help control my weight when it went up suddenly and it dropped right back down again in a matter of weeks so I really wouldn't worry too much. Some women with PCOS are actually too thin as their hormones are effected in other ways. I personally refused to go back on the pill when my doctor suggested this but only because it interferes with my periods and mine are often stopped by my PCOS and I was a little afraid that it would slow down my chances of conceiving if I didn't have a regular cycle.
