I am thinking of starting a small income by offering my services to cleaning others homes. How much should I charge?

$15 to $25 an hour. You have to be able to give a good estimate on how long it will take you to clean a house, say 2500 sq. ft. or 1000 sq. ft. and stick with it because that is what your client will be paying for. I have mine done, it is a small bungalow l1100 sq. ft. I pay $40. Two people for one hour. You will have to be specific on what you clean. Dusting takes the longest time because all nick knacks have to be moved and dusted. I don't have them dust because of this, I do that myself. I have hardwood so they vacuum every floor surface, clean and wash floor in bathroom, wipe down by counters in the kitchen, wash the floor. I have laminate flooring in the dining room, so they vacuum and damp mop that. All bedrooms are vacuumed. All that takes two girls one hour. They are specific and very good.
Cleaning ovens would be extra

Why don't you call around your area or search the internet and see what other companies, similar to yours charges. That way you will have an idea of what is reasonable.
Also, don't forget about insurance, (get bonded) people want to feel comfortable about letting a stranger in their home.
