Recently I was given a Silver Towne .999 silver bar. It has a miner and mule, marked 5 troy ounces with the number 32480 stamp. It is inclosed in plastic but has some tarnish on the edges. Any idea the value?

Hello j:
As of this morning, silver is worth $12.67 a troy ounce. Your bar has NO numismatic (collector) value, therefore, it's worth $63.35. You'll get a little less if you sell it TODAY.
In my view, silver will be worth $50 an ounce in the near future, so if you don't have to sell it today, I wouldn't.

Hi, jolike1!
What exactly do you mean by "Silver Towne", please? Is this some sort of commemorative piece?
Thanks!

JOLIKE1 - EXCON HAS TOLD YOU TRUE, and I FIGURE ALSO THAT SILVER WILL GO TO THE SKY IN NOT VERY LONG;;ONE reason it is as low as ity is now is due to oner reason - every one that has any old coins is selling them, even below the value of the coin not realizeing that ,they are buying silver ,to resell it and what is going to happen is the silver coins are going to be melted down and that will be there end of those coins :: IN a way it helps collectors by the coins that are left ,WILL INCREASE IN VALUE DUE TO THE SHORTAGE ON AVIABLE COINS IN THE COLLECTORS VIEW POINT ;; What I can't see is why people sell this way ,WHAT happens to our hertage?? What if the confederates had burrned all the confederate money or what if right after 1776 they melted down all the col
ONIAL coins or the ancient coins ,dateing back to ( B.C.)?? And all that our time of the world ,all we could see (IF WE WERE LUCKY TO ) is pictures of any ;; ( WHAT WOULD WE DO?? ) ;; Have a good day and GOD BLESS:: F.B.E.
