I was married for eighteen and one half years.
We had no children and my wife was never encouraged to stay at home. In fact, I supported her efforts to build a career as a television producer. I have been paying alimony for ten years and feel that it is time to stop.
She works to supplement her income. However, she depends upon my support way too much.
We have a gavron warning in the stipulation.
I now have a new family and the amount of her alimony is too draining. Are there any cases that look at the length of my alimony in light of the fact that she was never asked to sacrifice for my career?
If it were short term the length would be set . Why should I be expected to pay forever.
