I am an Indian. While being on work visa in the US, I got involved in a crime(sexual felonies). WHile pursuing the case, I returned home (back to India). I appeared for visa to go back to the US and fight the case but my application was denied. Now I am in India, with case still pending and warrants as well.
In this case, please suggest me whether I can get student visa for France? My criminal record is clean in India. There is US visa stamp on my passport. Will the French Embassy check my criminal record in the US? Your inputs will be greatly appreciated.

Have found recently that when you already have a valid visa for first country and you want to obtain similar visa for second country, the consulate contact the first one for verification. So don't lie in your application...

Thanks lawanwadee! My previous visa was about 5 years ago, will France still check with US? Also, if I get visa to france from India, are still there chances of me being arrested in France. I know the US has not submitted my info with interpol. My lawyer in the US informed me so. Even the US embassy in India has no info about the case.. that's what they told me when I appeared for visa.. or are they just bluffing??
