Do you go to church?

I go to church regularly every Sunday.

A minister decided to do something a little different one Sunday morning. He said 'Today, in church, I am going to say a single word and you are going to help me preach. Whatever single word I say, I want you to sing whatever hymn that comes to your mind' The pastor shouted out 'CROSS.' Immediately the congregation started singing in unison, 'THE OLD RUGGED CROSS.' The pastor hollered out 'GRACE.' The congregation began to sing 'AMAZING GRACE, how sweet the sound.' The pastor said 'POWER.' The congregation sang 'THERE IS POWER IN THE BLOOD.' The Pastor said 'SEX' The congregation fell into total silence. Everyone was in shock. They all nervously began to look around at each other afraid to say anything. Then all of a sudden, way from in the back of the church, A little old 87 year old grandmother stood up and began to sing 'MEMORIES.' Got to Love Little Old Ladies.. Laugh... It burns calories .

I find that a bit extreme of the pastor, to be honest. I haven't been to church for a long time. I pray every night and put all my faith in the Lord.

So to answer your question, I do go to church when I find the time.

Yes, I do, and I have to say that I've never encountered this free-association approach to homiletics.

For those who seem to be unaware, this is an old joke... I get a chuckle out of it though.

And yes, I do go to church.

And here I thought it was just exagerration! Oh man, I hate when that happens.

On a serious and less red-faced note: Aren't there ministers who do a kind of free-association thing with homilies? I seem to recall reading an article about this some time ago.

ROLCAM,
Yes I do go to Church...
And...
That's the second rime I've heard that joke.
Thanks for the laugh.
Peace and kindness,
Fred

That's a joke? Woops, silly me. Not used to American humour that much ;-)
