For the past month my 24 yr old son has been experiencing orange flashes from the side of his head. His eye surgeon says his eyes are fine and said it was an ocular migraine. He now went to a neurologist who doesn't agree and is being sent for an MRI. Any ideas on what it can be? I'm getting concerned. Thanks!

Sounds like a detached retina. He needs to do as the other dr says.

No.. it's not a detached retina.The first thing he did was go to his eye surgeon who told him his eyes were fine and said it was just an ocular migraine. His regular doctor said the same thing and sent him to the neurologist who is sending him for an mri once passed by the insurance company. I wanted to know if anyone else ever experienced this.

We can't diagnose here... But I've heard of this and it was once an ocular migraine and once a detached retina...

When you say "from the side of his head", do you mean from the side of one of his eyes,aka peripheral vision?
