From reading things on this site and many others I think that I may be depressed and I want to help myself. However saying that a lot of things are going on in my family and I don't want to make things worse by addding something else onto their problems also I believe that they will think I'm just being dramatic and won't believe me as they already just think I'm soft as they have caught me crying quit a few times.I'm only 14 I don't know what I can do. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, amyb123!
You might be clinically depressed, but that would need to be something for a health professional outside of this site to determine.
Please do continue to post on this site as there are a number of folks here who can be of help to you in a number of ways. You're also anonymous here.
I'm wondering what some of the things are that you like to do. For instance, are you into the arts of any kind, like music, art, drama and writing, etc.
Thanks!
Amby,
Don't be so sad - you're 14, it's perfectly normal to be depressed. I'm 16 and I still get depressed quite often. I'm sure this is all due to chemical and biological changes in the body, linked to puberty.
You're parents tell you you're a "softy" so you take it as an insult and act the opposite - they don't mean any harm to you, they want you to be strong!
Although you should remember that there is nothing wrong with crying - but too much or too little can be troubling.
Keep us posted, and tell us a little about yourself just like Clough suggested.
Take care,
