Not sure if there is anything I can do about this,

I have just moved into a new flat and have found that there is a constant "rushing noise" coming from the pipes. This is 24/7 and only quietens after I quickly turn a tap on and off (but does come back after a few seconds). It seems to emminate from both the cold and hot water supply pipes under the kitchen and bathroom sink. I'm not sure if this is due to high water pressure or if the noise is increased because of loose fitting of the pipes (do you generally get a rushing noise from pipes 24/7)

The only 24/7 rushing noise from a water pipe is caused by a leak that's hidden. This will be complicated by the other flats that may be on the same service. Go out by the water meter and open up the face. If the little pointer's spinning with nothing on in the building then you have a major pressure leak. Let me know. Tom
