There has appeared in every faucet, toilet and shower a small, white mineral looking grit about 1/8 x 1/8 clogging the water flow; the screens and valve processes. It only seems to be on the cold side (thus the toilets valves too) and has just manifested itself in the last few days. Surprisingly the outside faucets do not seem effected. Any ideas on what this is and how to clear it. The water company says it is not something they have done.

Sounds like calcium , wich comes from , hard water, a water softner system will take care of the calcium as well as any other hard minerals that can cause damage to your faucets and fixtures.. mike
