Ok so ill try to get straight to the point.. I had sex With my boyfirend in August of '08 we had intercourse for about a minute and he was not even close to cuming he pulled out way before it was my first timw with him and ever since then I have been very paranoid I have even lost at least 10 pounds since August and its because my appetite has changed since I'm so scared . It is now the end of January its been at least 5 months since we did it and I still haven gained my weight back my concern is my periods since that August they have not been normal they have been 4 to 5 days and not as much blood and before August they were myb 6-7 days and the bleeding was more.. I have taken at least 15 hpt's all negative... could I be pregnant? What could be causing the shorter periods ? I am so frustrated and stressed out that I can't think straight . Can anybody explain what could be causing all of this!

If you were pregnant you would know it by now. Most likely your belly would be showing, your periods would have stopped altogether, and you would more than likely feel the baby moving.

Periods change sometimes for no rhyme or reason. Stress can be a MAJOR factor in change of periods, so stop stressing, you are not pregnant.

And for goodness sake, please use protection from now on, the withdrawal method is not a form of birth control.

Stress. Stress can cause your periods to be messed up.

May I ask how old you are? If you haven't been having a period for very long, it can take time to adjust into a predictable cycle.

Losing weight can be a factor as well. If you body fat becomes to low, your periods can become unpredictable or disappear completely until you become healthier.

I suggest going to your family physician or GYN to talk about what is going on. It sounds like you're suffering from a lot of anxiety over this.

Good luck to you

Your periods can be affected by many things. I've read that diet plays a big role, drug/alcohol consuption(not saying you are abusing), time of day you take your pill/ or missing it/ irregular pattern of taking it (differnt times every day.), you're hormones, STRESS (this one has a huge impact on your bodily cycles.), Your THOUGHTs can even mess with your period, exercise or lack there of, breathing in some chemicals (like if you work in a factory.), and yes babies, and I'm sure there are more.

If you are worried, talk to a doctor/ Gyno if you're that concerned. Stop having sex for a while, and try to focuse on getting a rutine for your body to work on, if after a month you still think something is wrong then go to the doctors. But look at all those factors.
{If it hurts, or something really odd like a rash, abnomal discharge (pusy or really smelly.) go to the Doc ASAP, or if there are any other strange things.}

Ok, I'm no doctor, nor a women, these are all just thing's I've read about, and my "friends" whom are girls often like to ask me about this kind of stuff because I have a few medical books. Such as Understanding Human Sexuality, Merck Manual of medical information (very helpful), and nursing books. If you really want an answer though, I always advise that a person go talk to the Doc.

I hope that helps and from what I can tell you are just going through some hormonal changes, but I don't know you, or how old you are, or nearly enough to make any real guess. Take care of yourself.

Peace and kindness be with you.

Threads merged.

Loveberry, try to keep your posts together. Asking the same question over and over only leads to confusion.

If you were small and thin you would be showing even more!!

It does happen, but is rare. We CANNOT diagnose you over the internet. To get peace of mind, it might be in your best interests to see a doctor.

Because of your low weight and the fact that you are obviously stressed about this, I would say that is a big factor in the changes you've seen with your body.

As we've said, please see your doctor ASAP for two reasons.
1. For peace of mind.
2. For a physical exam, pregnancy test, and possibly to consider birth control options.
