We missed a credit card payment to Chase. They raised out interest rate sky high. When we called, they said they we could try and quality in a hardship program for a $75.00 fee and if we meet one of the criterion, we would have zero interest for two years. They won't tell us the criteria until we sign up and pay the fee (even though they have said if we don't qualify we will get our money back?? ). And they said the hardship cases aren't that extreme. Do you have any idea what is the criteria for being eligible for this hardship through Chase Bank?

I don't know what their criteria is exactly; I would assume they want some type of financial disclosure to see if you truly are suffering hardship or not.

I say go for it; if the fee is refundable, what do you have to lose?

I just logged onto this site for the first time... but your communication with Chase sounds screwy... either Chase is even worse [I closed all my credit cards with them 20 years ago because I thought they were ripoffs even then] than I thought, or MORE LIKELY, it sounds to me like you have somehow communicated with a company OTHER THAN Chase--- I can't imagine ANY bank asking for $75 w/o telling you the criteria--- sounds to me like one of the SCAM credit 'helping' [usually THEMSELVES!] agencies.

I suggest you call your CHASE credit card direclty and talk to a bank manager...
