My maytag gas dryer mod# LDG8414AAE runs forever when I set to "more dry". I suspect the timer is bad. Is there a "quick fix" (WD40?)? Or do I just replace the timer ? If so how do I go about replacing it ?

It might be the timer but it could also be the sensor that tells the timer to advance.

edb1 - I do believe it is the timer.:: I don't know what model you have ,but on some modles the switches are all combined togreather,and unless you are an exper. Elect. And have a meter ,its hard to separate the different switch ;; it is better to get a appliance service man to come and take care of it ;; YOU will have to remove the top control panel; if you do try to do it ,before you start - unplug the power cord stay safe have a good day and GOD BLESS :: F.B.E.
