I am replacing the remote control unit for a ceiling fan with light fixture. The fixture is located in a stairway landing and is controlled by a three-way switches. The fan is a Hunter fan, however, the remote control/sensor is not a Hunter. The remote control unit is made by Dimango Products Corporation. I could not find this unit on their online website. The model of this unit is "RC 1000 R" with a frequency of 315.

My question is this---where can I find a replacement that will control the fan speed, light intensity. I have been to Menards and other electrical companies in town with no luck as their remote controls are not for a three-way switch.

Thanks for you help!

Is it a wireless remote, or does it have two wall switches?

I don't understand what you mean by a 3 way remote.

Also, what model is the Hunter fan?

Sorry for the confusion on this question--

The ceiling fan is wired to three switches---one at the top of the stairs, one at the landing and one at the bottom for the stairs. The remote control has a button for the fan and one for the light. I could control fan speed from slow to fast and off and control light from dim to bright and off. Right now I can only turn the fan on but not off and I cannot turn the light on at all.

The controller did not come with the fan (Hunter) and I have not been able to contact the manufacturer's customer service--they are not available. The online website does not have the identical remote sensor so I will have to replace it.

I'm not sure if you call this a three way switch or a four way switch--there is a four way switch is on the stairway landing as I replaced all three of them first--not the problem so next is the remote?

Menard's and Lowe's do not carry remote control for a ceiling fan wired for three way(?) just a wall mount single switch.

Hope this clears it up or maybe muddys' the question even more?

Thanks

All of your wall switches are just ordinary on/off 3 way switches, right?

If so any remote/receiver kit will work DEPENDING ON WHAT MODEL HUNTER FAN YOU HAVE. I NEED TO KNOW THIS. Pictures may help.

Yes, ordinary three way switches. I have taken the ceiling fan down, dismantled it and cannot find a Hunter model number. Tried to attach a picture but cannot seem to get it done right either.

I give up---the ceiling fan is approximately 10 years old, probably ready to be replaced anyway.

Thanks for your patience!

EMail me the picture.

HOWEVER if the fan weighs less than 30lbs you can use any remote kit you can buy.
