My period is now 3 weeks and 3 days late. I went to the ER yesterday and the doctor said I was not pregnant. He did however say I had a UTI (urinary tract infection). He suggested that I see a family doctor or an OB/GYN because it could be hormonal.

Here is the problem... I have no health insurance. I'm trying to find a clinic that can help me but not cost a terrible amount of money. PLUS I want someone who can assist with telling me WHY I haven't had my period. I have had a regular cycle for the past 12 years and am under no extreme stress or gained a large amount of weight recently? Any suggestions. Thanks

It could be any number of things, from menopause to a rare missed period. As you're almost due for the next period, I would wait another week or so to see if it returns on schedule again.

Thanks. It shouldn't be menopause though I'm only 22 years old.

There are a number of reasons to miss periods, from hormonal imbalances to weight gain/loss, stress, etc.

Do you have a health department where you live? This is where you should start without insurance.
