I cannot access my internet banking webpage online.
I am using WinXP SP3 and IE7.
I can open the bank’s web page and then the logon page. After that I enter my ID and password. Then I left click on <log on> and the secure page tries to open but the system freezes immediately. I have tried right clicking <log on> and selecting <open link in new window> (this worked once only and now freezes also). Doing <ctrl+alt+del> takes “scores" of repeats before IE finally closes.
This has been happening for several weeks. I do not have the problem if I use a different computer. I have tried changing the settings of and even disabling my Zone Alarm Firewall (putting Windows Firewall on beforehand) but this did not help.
I have also -
Emptied the recycle bin,
Defragged the C: drive,
Cleaned the registry,
Run Uniblue “Speed-up-my Computer”,
Run Nortons WinDoctor and DiskDoctor,
Run a full anti-virus scan (AVG) - OK, and
Used CCleaner to clean the System and Windows Explorer, and to remove temporary Internet files and History files from Internet Explorer
– all to no avail.
Has anyone any ideas how to solve this?
