American Education Service (AES) will allow a co-signer to remove their name from a loan if the co-singer has made 48 constitutive payments. This law was is for loans open 2005. My loan was open 2000. I have made 78 constitutive payments. I was told that I do not qualify because my loan was open in 2000 not 2005. The original loan was $16,042.78. I have paid a total of 18,111.29. How can I have my name removed as a co-signer?
