Can anyone recommend a high-rise toilet, after 2 knee replacements I'm looking for that little extra height. . I thought about American Standard Champion model (10 year warranty), but have heard of some people having leaking flush valve issues. Has that problem been fixed?
1.Does anyone have an opinion on what make and model to replace my original toilet?
2. If I got a toilet myself at Home Depot is it the same as if I went to a plumbing supply warehouse?
Thanks...

Most toilets are about the same. I will say that TOTO brand toilets seem to flush better than other models I have worked with. But really, I would just look for the best price. High rise toilets are going to be about twice as expensive as regular toilets. I suggest toto, but have had good luck with gerber, mansfield also. Haven't delt with american starnderd much, but I'm sure it would be a good toilet also. I would just go find a style you like, that fits the bill, and buy it. There are a lot of different opinions as to which pot is best to poop in, but they are pretty much equall. I wood ask neighbors and friends about the toilets they have(if they have newer ones) and see what they say. Also, look into TOTO, and see what they say.

Please let me know what you decide, and how things work out.

Take care,

I would highly recommend TOTO "comfortable height" toilet. Toto, bcs it is today considered the best in gravity flush toilets and "comfortable" because today everybody wants higher toilet. It sits about 17" high - about 3" higher than regular toilet. However, today, there are many manufacturers who make comfortable height toilets. Home Depot sells Kohler, and Am.Standard, just to mention few. There is really no difference bet. HD toilets and Plumbers supply house toilets. Usually HD doesn't have too many models in stock and will have to special order it for you.
