What type of business plan should I take in starting a painting company? I have no plans to hire any one. I just want to work for myself. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I first called Eire Insurance to get a price in job insurance and what coverage I needed. So now I knew what the yearly coverage in operating cost were. I was already moonlighting and that got me customers already. I did some small advertising in local bi monthly papers.
The first year don't necessarily worry about quarterly taxes payment after you get a federal business tax number.
The rule of thumb is save 30% of your profits for the year and that should cover the taxes. After first year is established that will set your quarterly tax base payments.
Advertise on your vehicle to and make up a sign to put in a yard when you do a job.

Hi, spaceman2009!

How much experience have you actually had painting for others in order to make a profit for yourself, please?

That would seem to be the first thing that needs to be addressed.

Thanks!
