Is there a right and wrong way to install the balancing spool on a Moen shower faucet. I took the old one out and I have a little less water pressure on the hot then the cold but not much. But when the valve is all together The hot what is had to find and doen't get very hot. It seems to run out fast. I can go to the bathroom and kitchen sink and still has hot water but the tub has none. I also have had a new water heat installed for other reasons and that did not make a different. I did not notice any markings on the new spool and I did bite the bullet and by the factory Moen part. Any Ideas why I am having somany hot water issues. I install this valve about nine years ago and had some issues then but as time went on they have worsened. So I replaced the spool and might have added to the problem.

The balancer can be adjusted and from your description you are getting too much cold and not enough hot. I'll give you a Moen tutorial to help you adjust, you will need to search the Moen site to get allthe info.
