I have a KitchenAid electric range, model # KERC507HBS3. The little red bezels that indicate top burner usage keep breaking. I would love for someone to tell me that this is a common issue with this unit, and not a result of some inadequacy on my part when replacing them. Be honest, though, as resolution is more important than vindication to me. Check my member reputation for reference to my mechanical ability, if necessary.

Is this a heat indicator that stays on as long as the burner is hot and is controlled by a thermostat or just a use indicator to indicate the burner is in use and controlled by a switch.

One is located next to each of the range top controls, and they illuminate when the knob is turned on. They fit through a small hole in the face panel, and the indicator lamp clips on from behind.

Not being there to look at it and having little experience with this particular model I would say its just a common problem. When you say they keep breaking exactly what happens physically breaks or just stops working ? Post back well seeif we can figure it out. Good Luck,AC

The lights still work, but aren't visible because the back of the bezel breaks off, and the light falls down inside the control compartment. The range works fine otherwise.

Can you post a pic of how the bezel attaches
