My husband and I have an LLC in Nevada through an NV Registered Agent.
We live in California and own a small travel agency franchise that we operate from home. This travel agency is operated under a DBA.
Our head office is located in Florida and has provided us with a Florida Seller of Travel ID and a California Seller of Travel ID.
At the end of the year, we get a 1099 from our head office showing our commissions and we file/pay California taxes on it.

Do we still need to file for a California business license?

Hello j:

Well, it's NOT as simple as it sounds...

There are a LOT of questions to be answered first, not the first of which will be, who are your clients. If they're Californians who come to your door, you probably NEED a California business license.

But, if NONE of your clients live in Ca, and you do your business online, you might NOT need a California business license...

Did you register your LLC to do business in California?? If you DID, then you probably have to get a California business license.

So, as you can tell, there are LOTS of possibilities, and they can't be answered HERE with any degree of certainty. Therefore, I'd run this question by your CPA. If you don't have a CPA, I'd certainly HIRE one.
