Long story short.
My hair bleaches out a lot in the sun and I did some stuff to help bleach it out too

Anyway yesterday I bought dark brown hair dye so I could get my hair back to normal! But now my hair is like black! I have washed it a lot and its no longer black but it is still a really dark brown

I am doing everything I can to help fade it

I heard that sun will fade it so I'm am getting ready to go lay in the sun all day

But is it possible to buy a lighter brown hair dye and just dye my hair that color or will it not work?

Please help me I heard that after 72 hours hair color is really hard to get out so any help on how to fade it or if I can dye it will be greatly appreciated~

If you want a subtle lightness or want to go one shade lighter, you can use a permanent hair color product. Permanent hair color is most likely to offer chemical agents that will lift your current color and deposit a lighter shade. Using a blonde color will lift your dark hair by a shade or 2. But when you use a permanent color on dark hair, you will end with red tones. Therefore, you will need to use a color with "ash" in it. Ash colors will remove red tones from the hair.

So my hair has like a chocolate hue to it right now if I dye it light ash brown it will lighten it? But not as light as the box? Hmm a little confused so I will wait until you answer this before I do it. Thank you!

If your hair is dark brown and you try to lighten it with a light ash brown color, it will do nothing. As you know, some permanent hair colors can lighten your hair, but the color has to have chemical agents that can lift your current color. Blonde shades can lift color by a couple of shades. However, you may end up with an orange or red result. Therefore, you will need to use an "ash" blonde color to lift your hair slightly and tone down the brassy look.

So if I do my hair very light ash blonde 90 by revlon (I will test it first) it should lighten my hair a few shades?

The light ash blonde should lighten your hair 1-2 levels. Remember that all dark hair contains some red and it can be noticeable in the lightening process. The ash base colors are known to neutralize unwanted red tones, but it might not work sometimes. It's best to do a strand test first before applying an all over color.

When I dye my hair should I leave it on for 5 minutes because it has been less than 3 monthes since I have died my hair? Or 45 minutes like the box suggest for hair that hasn't been dyed for 3 monthes or more?

You will need to leave the hair color on for 45 minutes or as indicated in the directions.
