I wrote two checks. My former roommate was suppose to be paying me back 900 dollars. I gave my two checks to my land lord. I assumed I would have the money to cover them. But I never received the 900 from my former roommate. And the checks bounced. Can I get charged? For this? The lady from the 1-800 at my bank told me I could get into lots of trouble. Cause know my account is froze.

I've never heard of your account being frozen just from 2 NSF checks. Some cities have local laws about writing bad checks, so you could get a citation for it. Your bank will definitely charge you a fee for each check that bounced, also.

Well frozen, you can't write any more money if there is a negative account balance?? Or they froze it because of two "large" NSF checks.
But it is easy, if the person you wrote the checks to, takes them and files a criminal charge against you, yes they can take you to court.
So what you need to do, get the money you were suppose to get, put it in the bank and make the checks good
