I am 19 years old and have had my period since I was 12, I was on microgynon (contraceptive pill) for 2 an a half years and came off it last year in September.

My periods have been regular always arriving at the beginning of the month and I am pretty sure I cannot be pregnant. My exams at uni however were very stressful this month so this may be the cause for the following problem however any input would be greatly appreciated...

This month I did not get my period however I did get tenderness in the nipples, bloating, excessive appetite for chocolate (as I normally do) , very high sexual urges and changes in mood. All of which lasted for 1 week but no bleeding was present.

Does anyone know what the cause of this could be?

Thank you

I found after coming off the pill it took almost a year to get my body back to normal and my periods put right again. If your 100% positve your not pregnant I would spk to your doctor but having been in this situation myself I think he'll probably tell you not to worry too much and come back if you haven't had your period in the next month. Hope this helps x

Bloating and cravings, etc. are common feelings during both ovulation and menstration.

ETA: While ovulation only happens within a short period, it is possible to recognize ovulation symptoms (bloating, etc.) for a week's time.

Its possible that with the additional stress in your life, ovulation was delayed causing you to feel that way. If you don't get your period in 1-2 weeks, take a HPT and call your doctor.
