Ok so I drive a 2001 honda civic lx, may be a mistake
I was driving down the road one day and it just died.
I pulled over and it started right back up.
But now when I give it gas, when the rpms reach 3100 it maxs out
And starts to jerk, almost like a rev limiter,
What can cause that?
The check engine light is on.

If you have an answer it would be greatly appreciated if you answer or please email me

Have a scan done to determine which codes are stored in the computer. Post them here and we'll go from there.

When you say it maxes out at 3100rpm, is that with the vehicle in park?

No I mean like after I've been driving for about ten minutes (car runs fine at first)
It starts jerkin and sounds like a rev at 3100 while driving, I have tolet go of the gas a little bit and then let it shift. When I took it to auto zone the diagnostics test said mass airflow sensor, map sensor, ecm, or bad connection. I have changed the mass airflow sensor and that did nothing, I am willing to change the other things but need to know what people think is wrong with it first, because the ecm is $500.
Thanks for helping:)

What codes did they give you specifically? Auto Zoners are notorious for trying to diagnose vehicles past their knowledge; I had a customer get told he needed a fuel injector because his truck was putting out the code for lean fuel trim. When he pointed out that his truck wasn't skipping or missing, she actually started arguing with him and told him that she knew that was what he needed... which of course, it wasn't.

Get the code number; it'll make everything easier.
