It appears that the above ground pool is completely frozen and it needs to be removed from the property, how would we go about doing this?

Well you can't drain the pool if it's frozen. You'll simply have to wait until it melts and drain the pool. Then you will be able to remove the pool.

Nike 1 this has to be a test question and nadinec is asking it again today with a different twist,
nadinec if this is not a test question we need to know how big is the pool how frozen is it and where in geo is the pool.

How about a HUGE blender, 1000 gallons of Margarita mix, and 500 gallons of tequila?. or wait for spring thaw

Blend a bulldozer with 1part front end loader and a 6 yard dump truck, mix well or wait until Spring.

I think the pool is near the fundament

You can make fire with ice

There's a whole frozen pool to practice with, cool

Chip a chunk of ice out.

Use a dremmel tool to make a concave lens. Get a calender and a good television to get the weather channel on so you know when to use this lens. Now if you made the lens big enough get a tennis racket and Rip out the middle tennis in it and keep the racket. Use this racket=round part to mount the lens. Now double check the TV weather channel that's in your area to make sure you use this ice lens wisely. Double check the weather with the farmers almanac as a back up.
I personally would do this in July 4 when you know you will have a very good chance for this ice lens to get enough full sunlight for it to work. If it does not work well don't worry you will have the following winter for the pool to freeze to try this again. I v posted instructions on on how to make a ICE . If you find its to hard to chip a proper size chunk to start an Ice lens, go to the dollar store and get a cheap round pot. Fill it up with water and freeze it in your freezer. Now if that doesn't get cold enough try laying it on top of the pool this may enhance the freeze factors by 10

If you need some money to buy the perfect ice pot then I would suggest to rent out the pool as an Ice rink. These proceeds should help you get an ice pot. Make sure you check with your zoning officer's about having an ice rink in your pool. If they deny you that take pictures and get a survey done on the property. Use this to go in front of the zoning board to get a variance on your property. It helps to show the zoning board that it would be a hardship to you if you can't get this variance. To help with that hardship take a video camera with you as you WALK to the township to showing it was a hardship getting there. This may greatly help your case.
Remember don't panic there has to be one other person out there that let there Nordic pool freeze, so your not alone.

Get back to us and let us know how you made out and that would be COOL

I hoped I covered all areas of the problem. In the mean time get a phone book or dial 411 and cal Alaska and ask them how they solve this problem and they may be able to help you. Maybe someone here on this site is a pool defrost Expert, I don't see them on line.
If you get the ice melter to work than you can be come an Expert on this site and share your expertise with others that have frozen pools.
