Hi. I want to attach a cover plate to a ceiling, because I do not have the proper screws... however, from time to time, I do have to remove this cover plate...

I know it has a super powerful bond. The cover plate that I am affixing is not heavy at all...
When I do remove the cover plate, would an exacto knife - razor blade cut the bond? Or is Krazy glue really that strong?
To summarize: I would slice the bond that attached the rim of the cover plate to the ceiling... I would drop four drops (one at 12:00, 3:00, 6:00, 9:00)...
Any arts and crafts people know? Thanks

See photo for what I plan to do..

Forget the Super Glue. Use Liquid Nails or another construction adhesive. Apply a bead at installation time, press in place for several minutes then wait for the excess glue to swell outside of the fixture. This excess can be removed with a sharp blade.
With all adhesives, use heat to soften the bond. A hair dryer is a simple substitute for a heat gun.

... and will the "LIQUID NAILS" bond be released? Is this the same as "NO MORE NAILS"?.
But I don't need the excess cut off...
I would need the object that I glued to the other object to come off... see photo.

OOPS! The part about wanting to remove this plate was overlooked. Forget all the glue ideas. If this plate is being attached to existing screw holes (another plate already mounted?), Velcro strips or double sided tape might be an inexpensive alternative. The tape is easily pulled apart with hand strength & no tools but leaves residue to be scraped away before applying again. Velcro strips can be used for repeated removals & installations.

What is this cover plate covering?
