I am unable to access the documents and settings folder. When I click on it, I receive an "access denied" message. I don't what has changed. Everything else seems to work; neither McAfee or Adaware (free) reveals any malware.

I am the only user; administrator privileges. When I go to "properties > security" and check "permissions", I have full control.

Computer info:
HP media center
OS: Vista Home Premium

Thanks for any help,
Walt

Vista sort of moved the contents of this folder into your User folder within the C: drive. Open up My Computer and click on the Users folder. Hopefully the content you are trying to find is stored within this folder.

Hope this helps at all.

Right click on "document and settings" and then click on "explore".
If it works then you have virus in your system.

I just installed a new OS on a new partition leaving the Old windows intact. I wanted to pick files from the old windows in user/Documents but there is no Documents and settings folder in old windows. Are they hidden? How can I access this documents?
