I had a dryer that was tripping the main breaker to my apartment, which was a 100A. It would not never trip the 30A that is in the breaker box, but instead go straight to the main. So my landlord called a appliance guy to come out and look at our dryer, the dryers switch and motor were both fried and needed to be replaced. So instead of replacing my landlord just bought a new dryer. So then on Saturday we plug the new dryer in and turn it on and ten minutes into the firsy load ever put through it all of my lights go out due to the main 100A breaker tripping again. My apartment is 1 1/2 years old and Im assuming up to code, and since we have replaced the dryer that narrows it down to electrical I think. The 30A in the breaker box never has tripped once, I have tripped it myself to test if it works which it does. Any ideas?

Sure, there is only ONE answer. Have your landlord call an electrician to check out the main breaker.
