I have a fan that suddenly stopped working. There is a hum as if the motor would like to turn in all 3 speeds, however, it does not. Any suggestions would be much obliged.

Do the blades turn freely by hand? If so, it is likely a capacitor issue. If not it is likely a bearing issue, or something in the path of the motor/blades.
