I need to replace the cartridge in my bathroom faucet, but I can't get the 1 1/2" nut off under neath the sink. The basin wrench that I bought only goes to 1" and a 12" wrench is too big for the space under the sink. I called a tool rental place and they also did not have a basin wrench large enough to fit the bolt. The protective covering on top will not budge, they must have glued that down with mighty glue. HELP! (Don't know the brand - fancy brass faucet)

You should be able to replace the cartridge without removing the entire faucet or the stem body. What kind/brand/type of faucet do you have ? Please, post details so we can guide you through...
