I installed a brand new toilet and I purchased it from RONA. For about a week now I’ve been hearing a hissing sound coming from the tank. I pressed down on the fill valve lever that fills the tank and the sound goes away for minute or so and then it begins to make that sound again.
There are no leaks in the tank and everything else is working fine.
What can I do to fix this problem?

What can I do to fix this problem? What ballcock came with your new toilet?(see images) Regards Tom

The ballock is the same as image 400A. I just found some water stains on the ceiling below the toilet that is making the hissing sound. I took down the ceiling and notice water coming down the pipe between the floor flange and elbow. It doesn't seem to be leaking from the elbow but I think it's coming from the flange that the toilet sits on. It's a older house built in the 70s. The piping is copper and the flange seems to be alum or sheet metal.

A hissing noise with moisture indicates a pressure llak in the supply in the wall. Check the pipe going to the angle stop. Let me know what you find. Good luck, Tom

Actually I took off the toilet and found the wax ring ripped and the leak was coming from the toilet flange and running down the 4" pipe. I also found what was making the hissing sound, there was an object stuck under the flapper causing the water to leak out of the tank. Therefore causing the water to flow out of the tank and gong through the rip of the wax ring and down the pipe.
I bought a new extra thick wax ring and an additional ring for the toilet. Now everything seems fine for now!
But Wouldn't there be some water on the floor around the toilet?
