Here is a start.
State-Specific Prevalence of Obesity Among Adults --- United States, 2005 (http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm5536a1.htm)
The two web sites that often have both national and state by state statistics on death and disease (obesity is considered a form of "morbidity," or disease) are the federal CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and the National Center for Health Statistics (which is connected to the CDC).
For example: N C H S - FASTATS - Deaths/Mortality (http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/FASTATS/deaths.htm)
I usually just go straight to CDC's home page and search for what I'm looking for.
Good luck!
