Hey got one for you,a guy at work asked me what is the reason for hot water radiators are placed under windows? I thought about it for a while and I couldn't answer him.truthfully so does anyone no the real reason?

Because that used to be the draftiest part of a room in the old days. They were big tall windows and a lot of heat loss. I guess it was to compsensate somewhat.

tickle is correct. The radiators were usually placed in front of the biggest heat loss items and that was the windows. They were also placed on one or both sides of a main entrance door in many a old mansion. The ones used for the doors were usually very fancy or ornate to add to the décor.
