I broke up with my boyfriend after 10 years of being together, we have a 4 year old son together. And now he wants to fight me for custody, I left him because he is a very heavy drinker and he would get voilent with me in front of our son (the reson I left him). When I left I moved in with my dad and only grabed what I could to get us out fast. So I don't have a job or my own place yet. I have a few pic of the marks he left on me and my son as well as his place. I don't have a lot of money for a lawyer so my question is could he win full custody because I don't have a job or my own place?

If you were assaulted you should have filed a Police Report. It may be too late now but a Report does make a differerence.

No, he can't get full custody unless you are an unfit mother, a danger to the child.

He may want to fight you for custody but has he filed for custody? You should file if he has not so that you have control of the situation, get support and visitation is outlined by the Court.

A Court proceeding now could save you a lot of trouble later - for example, if he takes your son for visitation and doesn't bring him back.

Well if he can afford an attorney and you don't have one, you may not get as good deal. You will have to prove he abused you, if you have not already did a police report and do one now ( athough you still should) his attorney will claim of course that you are just doing and saying it to hurt him.

It can and willl be a dirty fight, he may try and bring up any dirt he can.
So getting a job right now and getting an attorney is first priority
