Lance Bass, band member of 'N Sync, says he's gay and in a ``very stable'' relationship with a reality show star.
Bass, who formed 'N Sync with Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick, tells People magazine that he didn't earlier disclose his sexuality because he didn't want to affect the group's popularity.
I knew that I was in this popular band and I had four other guys' careers in my hand, and I knew that if I ever acted on it or even said (that I was gay), it would overpower everything,'' he tells the magazine.
Bass says he wondered if his coming out could prompt ``the end of 'N Sync.'' He explains, ``So I had that weight on me of like, `Wow, if I ever let anyone know, it's bad.' So I just never did.''
The singer says he's in a ``very stable'' relationship with 32-year-old actor Reichen Lehmkuhl, winner of season four of CBS' ``Amazing Race.''


Man, my gaydar is way off LOL!! Must not have been easy for him to hide who he really was all of these years.

Justin issued a statement today showing his support for Lance: "Lance is one of my great friends. I support him and wish him all the happiness in the world."
In a statement to ET, JC also responded to today's news with his support: "I've known Lance for more than 10 years. We have been through so much together. He is family and I support him unconditionally."
Joey -- who was reportedly the first member of the group to find out that Lance is gay -- told People, "I back him up 100 percent."

Lance Bass is a bit feminine, so I wasn't surprise that he came out of the closet. I'm not a fan of N Sync's music, but I love the new song by Justin Timberlake called "SexyBack." Every time I hear that song, I have to dance.

I don't blame some of those celebs for not being open about their lifestyle. There is only a select few who can be open about who they are and not lose out on a lot of money$$.

Oh well, its really true that its hard hiding a skeleton inside your closet... so here he is admitting his real gender... well, there's nothing wrong with being a gay. I do salute him instead for his courage in admitting it.

I doubt seriously that Joey Fantone is Gay, but if he were I'd stand in line to meet him. I saw his Crib & your right. It is a mansion. The man knows how to spend his money.
