I co-signed for a dirt bike for my grandsons now ex girlfriend who wanted to get it for him for xmas last year. At the time she had a pretty good job so I agreed like a dummy. Little did I know it came with a open credit card limit of $15000.00 based on my credit. She maxed it out bying designer sun glasses and I don't know what all. She quit her job about 4 months after we got the dirtbike and has not worked since. The bike was about 9000.00 and it was a gift. I have been making these payments because I don't want to ruin my credit. The interest rate is really high and the credit card company will not work with me at all. Can I sue her for this plus all of the interest that I am paying. She was also living at my house rent free for 17 months until they broke up in October. I went to the courthouse to see about filing and they can not assist me in any way. How do I go about this. I cannot afford an attorney. What shall I do?

Thank you!

You can sue her for anything you want to sue her for. Winning is a different issue.

Whill the grandson not help with the payments of his own dirt bike??

Also have you made sure the card is cancelld so nothing else can be charged

It depends on the judge. Some of them have their heads on straight, while others remind us that we don't live in a just world. The least you can do is try.

Also, I'm curious as to how you co-signed for a bike but she also got a credit card. I've never seen vehicle financing linked to credit card financing before. Do you have your original paperwork?
