HI all.

Okay here is where I stand.

I bought a new house, it has this 1987 or so, Bryant Payne furnace.It is Gas.
It was working and even the inspector ran it.
After 2 weeks into this house I hear something click like several times and also notice that the furnace kept coming on and off ,on and off.
After all this clicking had gone away the furnace no longer blows hot air,just cold air.
So I had done my usual,by resetting everything, the power to the furnace and even the thermostat.
Still only blows cold air.
I had called up my home warranty and they get a contractor to come in, after several days of back and forth to look at the furnace, they have replaced the 2 circuit boards in the unit and still the pilot will not light.Contractor mentioned it's a electrical issue of some sort but was not sure where.

So,he calls in a friend to look at it and still could not find it.
So,from here the contractors get the okay from the warranty team that they will replace it.
A day later ,I get a call from the warranty people saying they are not going to replace it and that they are sending out another contractor to come look at it.

At this time,all the wires in the furnace were disconnected because the first contractors did not reconnect after they got the word that it was going to be replaced,so why waste more time,replacing the wires?

Anyway ,the second contractor comes in and says they can't work on it because it's a wiring issue and that ,its not in their contract.

So, from here on, I've been back and forth with the warranty people.The warranty people will not do anything further because the second contractors called it a preexisting issue.

SO, after talking to the warranty people and the contractors a millions times, no one will pursue looking into this.

I have already reported these warranty people to the BBB.

The next thing is that, the wires are disconnected and I am going to try to reconnect it all myself.
But,only problem is, I do not have a wiring diagram.


Would anyone out there,have a wiring diagram of this model -

The 2 circuit boards are disconnected.
I don't have the money right now to have these contractors come in and reconnect it all back when it was never my fault in the first place on why it was disconnected.

Can someone please help.
Ive already been back and forth on reporting to a lawyer and its getting very tiring, the back and forth stuff.

Are the circuit boards mounted where they belong? I can probably assist you with this, without a diagram. Can you find the part # on the main circuit board? May start with "HH84AA---".

Have you called the initial contractors that came out to see if they would come back and reconnect the wires that they disconnected. Maybe if you explain the situation that he may come back, maybe he has a conscious if you could speak to him directly? Just a thought. Never hurts to ask.

Yea, the 2 circuit boards are currently on the floor in a box.I can see where it is suppose to be mounted to and still have the mounting screws.

I will grab the part # from the boards itself and post them here later.

Yea I have tried to contact the original contractor to come back in and rewire this.
But they will charge me an arm and leg to come back and rewire this ,since they are no longer getting paid by the warranty team.

I have 2 circuit boards on this furnace.

The smaller one.THis board has 3 soldered wires to it.
Orange-brown-yellow.

The only numbers I can find on this board is

HH84AA008
HSCI Converse, IN
742-0004-1-B
Model - 990-497



on the top right corner has -

86-33-01
TCI-ais 94v-0



On the Larger board

HH84AA021 ( located on the side of board )
1010-919 ( on one of the corners )
1010-83-919B ( somewhere in the middle of board )
on a little label it has - 9950 c

On the back part of board with green backing it has
1010-83-919B

Hi all

I was able to wire the furnace back to its normal state of not working.

As of now the furnace comes on only when I set the thermostat to the on position, not auto

I have gas coming into this furnace.
Now, before I bought the house, the furnace did work by blowing out hot air.
Now its just cold because the pilot does not light.


Here's the scoop.
I moved into the house, furnace worked great for 2 weeks, I did notice the pilot lit as well and hot air coming out.

Nothing was done to the house for this to stop.

After 2 weeks ,I kept hearing this click click and heard and felt the furnace come on and off, on and off within like seconds apart, it had done this several times.

After that,this is were I believe the pilot no longer lights and no hot air comes out.the furnace will not even come on when I have the thermostat set to auto.

Again, only when I set it to "on" that's when it blows out cold air.

So, this is where I stand.

The previous contractor came out and replaced both the circuit boards and still same thing is happening.

I even reset my thermostat just in case and shut the power off to furnace for 10 minutes.

If anyone else would know what could be the exact issue, I am all ears and willing to try anything
