I am looking for the name of a movie I saw on TV posibbily in the 70's or 80's. It seems it starred a blonde actress that was popular at the time, like farrah fawcett or cherly ladd, or lyndsey wagoner.. (I could be mistaken.)
The movie was about an autistic boy and the mother could not find any help or therapy to help her son. She reached him by herself by putting herself on his level and mimicing him and his behavior. Does anyone know the name of this movie..

It wasn't the mother, but a neighborhood girl...

No in this movie it was the mother.. For instance one scene I think was like the boy was sitting on the floor banging on pots or bangin on something and the mother would get down on the floor with him and mimic what he did. Or if the boy was sitting there rcking the mother would sit an imitate him. She did this with eveything he did. I was thinking the boys name was timmy or tommy in the movie but not sure.
